Vintage 1988 COLNAGO CX URSS TEAM PURSUIT PISTA TRACK BIKE, n7 of 8 Produced

  
You are in for a very special treat here, an original ex USSR official Team Colnago CX Pursuit Pista/Track bike. I aquired this unique piece form an Italian bike mechanic who officially worked for the FCI (Italian Cycling Federation) who swapped two Cinelli Laser Pursuit bikes from the Italian team for two of the USSR team. I report here what I'have been told about this bike. Number 7 of 8 ever produced. Number 7 stamped on right rear drop out (please check last picture).

This bike was built by Colnago for the USSR team in 1988. URSS is the Italian correspondence for international USSR.

Many of you might say that USSR used takion type Colnago Master in those years and that is also true as a matter of fact. Yet, team also ordered other models, such as this one, peculiar and unique, besides being a lot rarer than a classic Master Pursuit Pista. Frame is built with Columbus SL tubing.

Bike is in fact a sum of rarities, specifically made for the Team. To begin with frame, it has features that Colnago would make commercial only years later such as the CX Precisa fork (I'd say unique to this model), Ace of clubs on seat stays, Chromed head lugs with the lateral drop, just to mention a few.

Also parts on this bike are very unique to this model. Seatpost is Colnago aero, with Colnago Panto seat pin, Colnago panto Campagnolo Pista bottom bracket cups, Colnago Pista fully pantographed headset, Colnago panto chainring, Colnago URRS TEAM takion type bullhorn, Colnago Panto stem, Colnago bar tape and bar plugs, Colnago toeclip straps. Rear wheel is a special disc model made by Ambrosio with integrated carbon hub on sealed bearings and hollow track axle. Front wheel is a Gipiemme Carbon lenticular track in size 650c.

Crankset is an unfluted 1988 [31] Campagnolo Pista in size 170, complete with Campagnolo dust caps and chainring nuts. Chain is a Regina Pista CX. Rear cog and lockring are both Campagnolo track.

Pedals are also Campagnolo Record Superleggeri with ICS toeclips. Saddle is a super classic San marco Rolls with gold rails. Bike is state of the art and is in "time capsule" condition with only a few and very superficial sign on the paint and perfectly intact tubing.

Bike has low mileage on and has been used on track only. To sum up on bike specs and parts. Columbus SL frame with CX precisa fork in size 650c. Ambrosio Carbon 700c rear disc wheel with carbon integrated hub on sealed bearings.

Gipiemme Carbon front lenticular wheel on sealed bearings. Campagnolo Pista 1/2x1/8 16t cog and lockring. Campagnolo Super Record Pista unfluted laser etched logo 170 crankset [31].

Campagnolo Pista panto Colnago bottom bracket. Campagnolo Record Pista Superleggeri Pedals. Colnago Pista (panto Ernesto Colnago) aero 27,2 seatpost. Regina CX Pista 1/2x1/8 chain. 3TTT Colnago URSS TEAM Takhion pursuit pista type bullhorn.

Colnago bar tape and plugs. Vittoria CX super narrow tubulars. Bike has been used on tracks ONLY!

Also, being the owner a very tidy, meticulous man, he kept the bike in a stupendous way and I believe you will clearly see how amazing the condition of this Colnago is through the high resolution detailed pictures I've taken. To the best of my knowledge this bike is the only one remained alive.

Together with another owned by a Greek collector.
